Alex earned her B.A. in Women & Gender Studies from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, where she balanced her time between working as a Teaching Assistant with her other job on a Folly Beach food truck. From there, she pursued her TEFL certificate in Italy. An opportunity for an internship at a nonprofit prompted her move to Colorado nearly ten years ago, and she hasn’t looked back! After several years in the Boulder restaurant industry, Alex eventually made her way back to working in the educational sphere, most recently in an administrative role at Boulder Country Day School.
With her husband and dog, Pogo, Alex loves to explore national parks in both the U.S. and abroad. While at home in Boulder, Alex loves baking with her sister, skiing, hiking, and camping around Colorado, cooking huge meals with her family, and listening to the Grateful Dead.
