Watershed Art program
The Watershed art program invites middle and upper school students to explore, experiment, and create. From drawing and painting to mosaics, pottery, photography, and filmmaking, students develop foundational skills while discovering the art forms that excite them most.
Courses are not intended to remain solely within the studio. Many strive to create public-facing installations, allowing students to push their craft and artistry to a level where their work is audience-ready. In addition, the Watershed art program cultivates projects that serve the common good by forming community partnerships and creating art for a purpose. These projects may support fundraising efforts for organizations in need or contribute to the beautification of shared spaces.

APRIL 2026: Blue Sky Bridge | Boulder, CO | Pleiades - Upper School Mosaic students
In the upper school Mosaics class, students partnered with the Blue Sky Bridge organization (a nonprofit dedicated to child abuse prevention and education) to design and create a large-scale public mosaic. The piece was envisioned as something more than visual - something that could offer a moment of beauty or a sense of hope to children and families, as well as those who work with them, facing uncertain times in their lives.
The collaborative piece (entitled Pleiades) took almost an entire semester to complete. Featuring a sunrise lightening a dark Colorado sky, illuminating a mountain, glacial lake, aspens, and columbines, students vision was that it woud represent a feeling of hope. The class was honored to welcome members of the Blue Sky Bridge team to Watershed for the unveiling of the mosaic. Read more about the project here.
APRIL 2026: Ciel Senior Living Center - Boulder, CO | Outdoor beautification project - Upper School Garden Sculptures students
Students in the Garden Sculptures class created four original works for the outdoor space at Ciel Senior Living. These sculptures, one to represent every season, were designed to bring beauty, reflection, and joy to residents and visitors alike. Watershed was lucky enough to host a few members of the Ciel community during the semester to assist with the design of the projects! The class was honored to welcome the residents to Watershed for the unveiling of the sculptures. Read more about the project here.
