Celebrating Community and the Watershed Fund

Watershed launched its first-ever Week of Giving this past week, as a special time when our community could come together with renewed energy and focus to support the programs, people, and experiences that make our school so unique. The week was a wonderful reminder of the generosity and commitment of our families, alumni, faculty, and friends (we had 100% staff participation in donating to the Watershed Fund this year!) — and it set the tone for the year-long work of the Watershed Fund.

The Watershed Fund runs all year long, investing in what tuition alone can’t provide. It contributes vital annual support that powers what makes Watershed unique:

  • Real-world learning that connects students to their communities and the wider world through fieldwork, service, and hands-on projects. Students step out of the classroom and into discovery — from Southwestern Pottery studies in Utah and paleontology research at Colorado National Monument, to exploring the health and policies behind water resourcing in Paonia.

  • Small class sizes that ensure every student is seen, challenged, and supported, fostering strong relationships between students and teachers.

  • Immersive global travel that expands perspectives, sparks curiosity, and creates transformative learning experiences. During May Term, students embark on journeys across the globe — learning Spanish through language immersion in Guatemala, tracing Ancient Civilizations and Modern Development in Peru, and conducting Field Science in Iceland’s dynamic landscapes.

  • Comprehensive college counseling that helps students navigate their futures with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

  • Recruiting and retaining amazing educators who shape our academic program in innovative ways — guiding students through dynamic learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

The Week of Giving was a highlight, but the work of the Watershed Fund continues every day. Every gift matters, at any time — whether it’s a first-time contribution, a recurring donation, or an increased pledge. Your support allows educators to dream bigger, students to explore further, and our community to thrive.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participates in sustaining the Watershed experience. Even after the Week of Giving, your generosity makes a real difference — fueling programs, opportunities, and experiences that tuition alone can’t cover.

👉 Make your gift anytime. Together, we are Watershed.
