Chris received a BA in English Literature from Colorado College and a M.Ed. from Colorado University in Boulder. From 1997-2006 Chris worked in various capacities for the Outward Bound School, including Instructor, Course Director, Trainer and Safety & Training Director, primarily leading 14 day, 22 day, and semester long courses in California, Oregon, and Washington. He then taught at Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts (MESA) in Thornton, CO from 2006-2010 as a Humanities teacher. At Mapleton, he became a Master Teacher, a role in which he trained and mentored all new teachers. He has been with Watershed School since 2010. Over the years, he has worked as a Humanities Educator, Dean of Faculty, Interim Head of School, and Art Educator.   

Chris is originally from Seattle, WA, but now lives here in Boulder. He is married to another teacher, and they have two, teenage daughters. Chris enjoys surfing, skiing, mountain biking, white water kayaking, ice skating and playing pickleball.
