Latinos In Action Mural - Upper School Mural Painting Class

Upper school students in the Mural Painting course completed an inspiring collaborative mural celebrating the inaugural members of the Latinos in Action organization. The project highlighted themes of leadership, community, and cultural pride, and showcased the creativity and teamwork of our students.

The finished mural was installed at Centennial Middle School, where it continues to inspire students and visitors alike. This project stands as a vibrant example of how student artistry can honor history, strengthen community ties, and bring public spaces to life.

[Latinos In Action (LIA) takes a strengths-based approach to helping students close the graduation and opportunity gap, working within schools to create real, positive change. The program is a year-long elective offered at the middle, junior high, and high school levels, taught by dedicated, highly-qualified teachers. LIA’s goal is to empower students to lead and make a difference in their communities while preparing for college and careers. The program focuses on four key areas: building on personal and cultural strengths, excelling in school, serving the community, and developing leadership skills.]
