This week marked a major milestone in Watershed's journey to complete our campus: we officially broke ground on Bay C!
The first step? Taking down the wall that separated Bay D and Bay C in our East Building. Watching the wall come down was more than just a construction project - it was the first visible sign that the vision behind our Missing Piece Campaign is becoming reality.
As the space opens up, we're creating room for something our community has dreamed about since moving to our Spine Road campus: a dedicated gymnasium that will give students more opportunities for movement, athletics, gatherings, and community events. It's exciting to finally see this long-awaited transformation begin.
Before students return in the fall, we'll also be completing important infrastructure improvements throughout the space, including enhanced acoustic mitigation and additional construction work to bring the area fully up to code. These foundational upgrades will ensure the space is ready to serve students well for years to come.
The work happening this summer lays the groundwork for an even bigger vision: a future black box theater and the launch of the student-run Watershed Theater Company. We're incredibly excited about the possibilities this will create for student creativity, performance, leadership, and collaboration. There is a lot happening on campus this summer, and every step brings us closer to the campus we've envisioned for Watershed students. What was once the "missing piece" is beginning to take shape before our eyes.
