Welcome, Diana & Katie!

As we continue preparing for an exciting new school year, we're pleased to welcome two new part-time educators to the Watershed community: Diana Lutz and Katie Wise each bring unique experiences, passions, and perspectives that will enrich our students' learning in meaningful ways.

Meet Diana Lutz

Diana joins Watershed as a part-time middle school math educator, though many members of our community already know her well. Over the past school year, Diana served as a long-term substitute teacher in the middle school, quickly becoming a valued member of our faculty through her thoughtful teaching, steady presence, and connection with students. This summer, she also led Watershed's very first STEM Camp as part of our new summer programs!

Diana earned a Bachelor of Arts in Astronomy from the University of Florida and began her teaching career in math and science at Continuum Montessori in Windermere, Florida. Her diverse background also includes working as a river guide, ski instructor, and science camp educator with CU Science Discovery—experiences that reflect her love of hands-on learning and the outdoors.

When she's not teaching, Diana enjoys trail running, gardening, swimming, reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family and pets.

Meet Katie Wise

Katie joins Watershed as a part-time music and theater educator, bringing decades of experience as a performer, educator, musician, and creative community builder.

Katie earned her degree in Theatre Performance through The Claremont Colleges and continued her training in acting, improvisation, and performance in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Over the past twenty years, she has taught voice, songwriting, improvisation, and creative expression while building communities centered around creativity, confidence, and authentic self-expression. She is also an award-winning singer-songwriter who performs nationally and internationally with her band, Bhakti Explosion.

Katie's passion for collaborative performance makes this an especially exciting time to welcome her to Watershed. With the addition of Watershed’s proposed blackbox theater as part of our Bay C expansion, she'll help bring new opportunities in our performing arts program to life while supporting and expanding the student-launched Watershed Theatre Company!

Katie believes some of life's richest learning happens through curiosity, creativity, community, and adventure, and she's excited to help Watershed students discover their voices, take creative risks, and experience the joy of making art together.

Please join us in giving Diana and Katie a warm welcome to Watershed. We can't wait to see the impact they'll have on our students and community this year.
